I get to do Brent's Job this week? Awesome. :techman:

Didn't see a thread for this so might as well start it now. So much for my prediction that Terrence and Sarah were going to be in the top 3. Stupid Terrence for not just going for the fast forward but sitting there pulling the equivilent of what a gay couple did with Rob and Amber a few races back. If you're not going to eat it or can't, leave right away. They had a chance to actually come before the Frats this race and Terrence was being an A-hole.

Can't believe the Frats made it to the top 4. They must be the stupidest people when it comes to reading clues. Speaking of that, this might be the stupidest cast when it comes to reading clues because it bit Ken and Tina as well. It doesn't take long to read the clue and you can't afford the extra time penalties in a race like this. Oh yeah, as for Nick and Star, they are slowly becoming one of my favorite couples ever. They are smart, cool under pressure and these legs have been impressive. They and Toni and Dallas are definately the best teams this season. Loved Dallas in the Cow. :guffaw:

I caught the last half of the episode so I missed the FF drama... but the brother/sister team is getting creepier every week. :)

The mongol thing was pretty lame.. stand and watch a bird fly 100'.

The cow stunt made up for it though. That was just plain funny.

What kind of moron chooses a an eating challenge in a third world country when they are vegetarian?

Seriously.

They deserved to lose for his sheer stupidity.

Oh and Dallas in the cow suit was SO friggin funny. His mum is really cool too.

Were they told it was a eating challenge in the clue? A lot of the time it's vague... like shaving the head or whatnot.

I just watched it... yeah, they should have left right when they saw they had to eat.

How is it possible the Frat Boys are still around? How? I think Terrence is the biggest tool on the planet, but how in the world are the Frat Boys able to tie their shoes without straining their brains? Truly amazing. I agree with everyone else, Terrence and Sarah wasted too much time on a task Terrence knew he wasn't going to be able to finish.

I'm for Toni and Dallas all the way. Especially after the cow. They just seemed to enjoy themselves so much with it. Amazingly, Tina & Ken aren't grating on my nerves anymore, though I was screaming at the TV when they took off the cow costume and returned it. Read your clues, people! Starr & Nick are obnoxious and smug and that's starting to wear on me. If they won, I wouldn't be upset, but I'm ready for them to be knocked down a few notches.

Most of the time, it seems like the team that always comes in first ends up losing the race. It's funny that way.

Well, there are always the Equalizers that reset the race. One flight only that doesn't leave until all the other teams catch up, or a place that doesn't open until morning. So you can count on a lead never STAYING a lead on this show. That's why I like it.

By the way, in terms of time, what has been the biggest lead ever on the show? Wasn't one team ahead by about 18 hours once? (Of course that would be disastrous for the ratings if someone ever had a truly insurmountable lead halfway through).

Loved the Cow bits. I want Dallas and Toni to win. The frat boys need to go next.

Well they won't have to worry about that anymore now that they've left their shoes behind.

Starr's aren't bad either. ;) She's a knockout!

I remember towards the end of one season, the first 2 teams had crossed the finish line and one team was still one or 2 tasks behind in Alaska. When they went to get their next clue, it basically said the game's over. :D

Yes! I remember that one.

The bad news: your race is over.

The good news: you won't have to wrestle a polar bear or eat boiled blubber. ;)

The remote elimination happened another time as well, when a team gambled on an airport.

The biggest lead I remember is from the season were one of the teams were always winning. They had maybe a 12 hour lead or more that was basically eliminated because the event they had to go to was closed.

The three biggest separation in times from the first place team to the 2nd place team have been at Pit Stops have been.

1. 1st season Frank & Margarita have a lead off 10 hours and 40 minutes over the next team. Due to a Fast Forward lead is nearly completely lost with an hours of operation of the grounds of the Taj Mahal (6am). Designed to let the others catch u and a reasonable hours of operation.

2. Season 5 Colin and Christie build a nearly 7 and a half hour lead over the next team. Lead is almost entirely lost next leg by an hours of operation waiting for a pyramid to open at 6am. Lead gained by a Fast Forward again. And a reasonable hours of operation.

3. Season 9 Eric & Jeremy build a nearly 6 hour lead over the next team. Lead is lost completely (and for 4 and and half hours allowing not only the next team but all but the last place team to catch up). Lead lost by arrange busing leaving at 10am. LEad built by a Fast Forward.

Now during individuals legs teams have had several teams gain leads do to flights that are destroyed by hours of operation. Things like teams managing to get an early flight that gets them somewhere at 8pm when the hours of operation are 6am to 6pm and thus have to camp out letting others catch up.

The producers usually schedule an earlier flight for Phil then what teams are expected to be able to make, but according to Phil the season that the racers were actually a head of them most was season 9.

What would be curious is on episodes where teams are fully in charge of their own destiny (no mass transit) who manages to build the largest lead over the other teams.

Is it just me or does it seem that these racers aren't that good.

I mean even the teams that are winning, do they seem like they are just tearing up the course?

Not to mention stupid beyond all belief. As a diehard (read psychotic fan) I have never seen such widespread incompetence.

And what the hell is the lack of self navigation. I don't ever recall a season with so little actual driving by the racers. And i miss that. BEing abel to get in a car, use a map and drive through a foreign country is something that I think should be a big part of the race. I also like it in that on paper men and women, young and old should be on equal footing.

I don't think they were told it was an eating challenge, but the destination on the clue should have tipped them off. And since there's often an eating challenge on one of the FFs in each race, they should have anticipated that food (and meat) might be in the offering.

The Frat boys are dumber than a box of rocks, and the fact that they bicker like an old married couple on the verge of divorce makes me wonder how they've managed to make it this far. Between their whining and their rudeness, I'm ready to see them get the boot.

There's been a lot of misread clues this season. Why not have each team member look at the clue? One person might misread the clue, but if teams would spend an extra 5-10 seconds and have both look at it, chances are one of the two would get it right. Case in point: Early on, only Tina was reading the clues and she messed up. She nearly messed up again by trying to take a cab to the pit stop, but Ken took a look at the clue and corrected her.

I wasn't a fan of Dallas and Toni, but after this last leg, I'm liking them. I really appreciated their attitude on this leg of the race.
