Amarillo Design Bureau / Task Force Games Starfleet Battles Texas class light cruiser - Romulan War

Well, I had intended to post the final update on the Great Awakening -and- this, but my laptop has died and so far my efforts to resurrect it haven't worked out. That said, here is a rough copy of the Texas class starship plans that go along with more work involving Kzinti / Mirak / M'Dok vessels from later eras. So for now, it may be a while before I have any more blueprint / design work up.. enjoy!

Interesting spin on the design. The official version mounts the warp drive above the ship on twin pylons.

And oh by the way, Task Force Games has been out of the Star Fleet Battles loop for twenty years or so, if memory serves.

I purposely took the nacelles down to make them in-line with the mass of the ship, and take advantage of the flared out section on the secondary hull. That simple change presents a less vulnerable aspect to the ship (with no nacelle struts to slice through) when it's facing it's enemy. As for Taskforce Games, thank you, and well aware of that too- just citing it in the title as that's where it originated before Amarillo Design Bureau.

Yup. :techman: The two classes are contemporaries in the Romulan War. I kind of figured the Texas was very much "by the numbers" quick assembly kind of vessel. Not too much to look at, not exciting in any real sense, but at the same time you don't necessarily win a war with something sexy. You win a war with something that works and gets the job done.

True...

Task Force Games is no longer connected to SFB...

But back during the Romulan War they were...

Awesome. I have always been a fan of the Texas-class, and I love this interpretation of her :) Excellent work!
