I love Amanda Palmer, and I've always been a fan of her earlier work with The Dresden Dolls. But I wasn't big on her solo stuff... until today. I just stumbled upon her new project, and all I can say is that I'm impressed. This thing is amazing.
The single is already my favourite song of hers: Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra - Do It with a Rockstar

If the rest of the album goes like this, it is going to be the album that I'm looking forward to hearing.
I didn't have time to listen to much of the live bootlegs of the band on YouTube, but from the minute or two I heard they sound quite experimental and interesting, almost reminded me of the time I lauded Amanda Palmer for joining Estradasphere for some shows, and how I was angry that they didn't collaborate further.
And I can't believe that her new band is a Kickstarter project. *
Perhaps it's time for me to stop looking down on Kickstarter only because it's a new thing?
* Or funded by it, whatever, I don't know how the damn thing functions.
