Alternate Bridge

Quick proof of concept try at giving the bridge an alternate color scheme. Thoughts?

(There is some bleeding, sorry...I´m new at this...)

Has anyboy who´s more experienced and talented then me ever try to "TOS-ify" the colors of the 2009 bridge?

I like it! As much as i liked the bridge in the film, i did think it needed a little bit of toning down and as ridiculous as it sounds, i was a tad disappointed that there were none of TOS colors in it.....like the orange/reddish color you put in there. Your rendition lets you be on the bridge without sunglasses. Do more!!

I actually used a pic of the TOS bridge and chose colors from that using the "color picker" tool.

Yeah...I thought the bridge was a bit bright.

I´ll do some more later.

No, I think the new-original wall color fits this bridge better.
I suppose if you want to cut down the brightness just start removing lights but leave the paint job alone :)

SALVOR, this is true. Who knows how it would have looked without all the damn lens flares blinding us?

I did specifically think to myself the first time i saw the movie "oh....where are the 60s colors?"

i hate change. just call me rainman! (i'm an excellent driver! 5 minutes til wapner! kmart sucks!)

Well, to be more clear, I had no problem with the lens flares except on 2 or 3 occasions :)

But, trying to see this from the point of view of someone who thinks the bridge was too bright, I'd prefer the removal of lights first than repainting the walls old-style.

I TOS-ified it a tad more...I think those panels fit there among the more modern style..in a strange but comforting way.

The bridge remains one of the few things about the movie I didn't like back in May...and still don't care for now. It should have had more touches of TOS color and aesthetics even if it was going to be redesigned with modern flatscreen computer displays and backlit images.

Yes, orange-red...but those weren't the bridge walls. The several "TOS-ified" images above for some reason have walls the color of Picard's bridge walls.

Gotcha! And wouldja believe i hadn't noticed all those lights until you pointed them out to me? Kids, don't do drugs. If you do you'll end up with a useless brain like mine....

Agreed about the bridge. In a way, it's the least Trek-like feeling thing in the movie.
The way I rationalize its look is that the engineering and design firm that did the TOS bridge was never formed in this universe because its founder was killed on the Kelvin.
So, the design team that lost out to that one in TOS time won the contract in this new universe, and made the bridge we see in the movie.
Works for me. :techman:

It just looks FAR too advanced for the mid 23rd century. I can buy to a point that Nero's interference starting in 2233 changed SOME things about Starfleet development and technology over the course of the next generation, but for the bridge to be this radically more advanced than even many TNG-era ships of the next century? It bothered me. Thankfully the movie itself was so kickass and awesome I didn't have much time to bitch about the bridge.
