Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

I finally did watch The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi and overall hated them.

I liked two of the chases in VII, most of the space action in VIII, overdone but obviously intentionally. Oscar Isaac did pretty good aside from some of the excessive sarcasm but was underused, John Boyega did pretty good, Rose was fine, Rey mostly fine but a little too annoying in bits of VII and cliched in parts of VIII and going from not knowing of Jedi in first to being so much for and one of them in second at least awkward. Ford and Fisher were really badly cliched in VII though Fisher was much better in VIII. I just didn't like the whole whole lot of TFA being such familiar echoes of whole lot of parts of ANH.

The worst part was that either Luke's son or Han and Leia's son and Luke's ex-apprentice really shouldn't be the main bad guy or most active bad guy, that's too bleak and it was mostly skipped and still very underwhelming, particularly unbelievable for why he went bad, why he or the others were following Snoke (including who he really was, how he became strong in Dark Side and the Imperial leader), why he was so bad that, even admitting internal conflicts, he would still kill Han especially as he did and his motivations really didn't become clearer or better in VIII. Also bad or worse for Luke to have so much abandoned the galactic struggle and his former friends, still at times clearly caring about them but in actions seeming to not care at all about them, really bad for Yoda to come back after so long and give such trite obvious advice. I can't believe that Luke, by at least the end of Empire, didn't know, believe that failure can be an important teacher.

Knowing some things about TRoS I actually think Rey being revealed to be a Palpatine descendant in TLJ would have made sense, more sense, would have fit in pretty well, would at least feel not inconsistent, would have heightened the stakes and provided some reasonable explanation for a lot (though not for the worst parts) but no we just didn't get much at all and that just being developed and revealed later after and against the just they were nobodies reveal feels really odd disappointing missed opportunity.

alot of people also hated the star wars sequel trilogy too which i guess in a way became the most controversial star wars movies in star wars history and why i guess its because they were made by disney

at least thats what i think to me in my opinion

He is a wannabe gangster and has everything to prove. When Snoke rejects him he becomes obsessed with gaining more power. When Rey rejects him he becomes obsessed with building up his power. He lives in the shadow of Vader's legacy.

He's so bad because he constantly feels like he has to prove himself.

I wonder if they have more stuff to announce or if they'll just be giving more information on the stuff announced at San Diego Comic-Con. They announced quite a bit of stuff there, so I can't image they'd have that much stuff left to that we don't already know about.

Since this thread has gotten a bump, something I've been wondering is when will we be getting a trailer for Starfighter? I know usually we get trailers for spring releases around Christmas or so, but since it was late September last year when we got the first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, I figured it wasn't out of place to wonder about Starfighter's trailer now that we're at the end of September again.

Is this in place of or in addition to the Rey solo movie? Is that still a thing? Did that become this? I am so confused and/or disengaged.

If I were Disney, and I am not, I would think the first Starfighter teaser would be attached to Avengers; Doomsday.

I was going to say there's no way that would happen, but then I remembered the downward we've seeing with these kind of movies lately, so it might be impossible anymore.
