well word on the street is that disney is cutting back on the i guess big budgets style disney marvel movies and tv shows along the big budgets style disney star wars tv shows and movies
and if both marvel and star wars wants to make more tv shows and movies then just make the tv shows and movies like the old days of tv shows and movies
Did the first Star Wars films have low budgets? Were the SFX used inexpensive?
George Lucas made the first film with a budget of $11.5 million. The second film cost $30 million. The budget for the third film was between 32 and 42 million dollars.

Meanwhile, the other two would be about 145 million in today's dollars, which really isn't that different from other tentpole blockbusters.

Even if you went for all practical effects, I don't know if it would make that much difference because you're still going to need a shit ton of miniatures, animatronics, costumes, props, sets, ect. and you're going to need to pay people to make them wear, them, and operate them. The new movies went back to a lot more practical effects and stuff, and even the cheapest of them, The Mandalorian and Grogu, still cost $165million, and I doubt any Star Wars that people are going to take seriously, could be made for much less than that.
There are some situations where practical effects can be more costly, both financially speaking as well as time costing as well. It's a factor in why CG has become so omni-present in the over the past twenty-five years.
