All the Time Travel

As the Vulcans seem to point out - Time travel is impossible...Is the Federation using Blackhole Weaponry/tech? Time travel is associated with the use of Black Holes which apparently expand out from point of origin back into the past and forward into the future - creating a change.

If you think Antimatter is on the warcriminal's list of naughty weapons, Black hole weaponry/tech would be at the top of the list in big bold letters.

YOur enemy could apply it to a future you...say the genes that give you red hair...and those genes would rewrite themselves back and forward through time so people with red hair dont exist. NAZIs could win simply by picking off all the undesirable genetic traits of the Species with a black hole weapon.

Well, yes and no. Its one of those "don't ask, don't tell" devices. We all know they're out there, but would you want to commit career suicide in Starfleet by EVER admitting complicity / willful ignorance of "B.H.W." (Black Hole Weapons) possession / development activities going-on, during your watch within Federation Space?

We all know they're out there, as the Krenim have something that can alter timelines, so why can't we mirror those activities in self-defence?

Shouldn't this be in 'Trek Tech' or 'Sci Tech' or is this genuinely some kind of idea for a new series or film?

Only Vulcans from the 2150s deny the existence of time travel. Now think about Enterprise for moment. The Vulcan Science Council would be under the thumb of the High Command, the head of which was in bed with the Romulans. (Actually V'Las requested to make a quick disappearance at the end of Kir'Shara. Presumably to return home... pure speculation)

My point is, there were probably Vulcans who theorised Time Travel was possible... but like Galileo (and his proof for heliocentrism) being forced into silence. For all we know, the Romulans are being aided by a Temporal Cold War faction.

Sadly I guess we'll just never know...

I'm not exactly sure how the Federation does time-travel, but if you watch TOS's "Tommorow is Yesterday" it explains the use of time-travel since the Enterprise is thrown back to 20th Century Earth. A similar method was done in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

I think the Vulcan High Command knew time travel is possible, based on information collected in Star Trek: First Contact and possibly other sources, and was suppressing that knowledge due to concern about the effects if it got out.
