All that abseiling done in "Blood Fever"

I was watching Blood Fever earlier and one of the major plot points involved some of the Voyager crew abseiling in some caverns.

Then a thought occurred to me. Why didn't they just wear those jet boots like Spock had in Star Trek V?

Also, if they used the STV rocket boots, it might highlight in people's minds that the Enterprise made it to the centre of the galaxy in exactly no time at all (twice, if you count TAS! Which everyone should cos Kirk met the devil himself in that episode and he turned out to be an okay guy) when it's half of Voyager's 70-year journey in Starfleet's fastest ship.

A landlord's unpenned pet adolescent male pig was getting territorial and bit me in the leg once, requiring 9 stitches, so I'll insult them if I please. I had no idea they could bite so deep.
