All 22 Bond Films on Blu-Ray by Fall 2012

The original source website worded things poorly, and user comments on the page have clarified things. This will mark the FIRST TIME that 9 of the films have been released in HD; all the rest have already been released to Blu-ray at some point. So I'm definitely looking forward to getting this - except for the Craig films I don't have Blu-rays of the other Bonds because I was waiting for a release like this.

My only disappointment is it sounds like they aren't including the 1967 Casino Royale or 1983 Never Say Never Again even though Sony now owns them too. But that's not a biggie as both are available on Blu-ray anyway.

As has been pointed out, the "9 films in HD" bit is likely a reference to the remaining nine films that have yet to be released on Blu-Ray.

As for the 1967 Casino Royale and the 1983 Never Say Never Again --- why would they include them? They're not part of the official canon of the series. I get wanting to have a nice "complete" complete set, but both films were made outside the purview of Danjaq/the Broccolis, so it makes sense they wouldn't include them in this, even if Sony does own the rights now.

I think the price of the entire set is kind of high, yeah, especially if this wording of which ones are going to be in HD isn't resolved. If they were $11 for individual HD remastered blu rays, that would be magical.

What does Skyfall have to do with anything?

I said it was a shame the boxset would be almost immediatly dated.

Skyfall release date: 26-10-12

Box set release date: 01-10-12

So in less than a month it would no longer be a complete set.

Though to be fair the box set is reasonable priced at £99.99 Which is less than a £5/movie.

That's always the case when a new Bond movie comes out (at least going back to TWINE). The previous ones are re-released in some new package or set to tie into the newest flick.

Skyfall release date: 26-10-12

Box set release date: 01-10-12

But that's the day that Skyfall is released in theatres. It won't make it to Blu-Ray until months after that. So until that time, there's still a space of a few months where the boxed set will be as current as can be....

And again, who knows what the inside of the box will look like. As I said, it could simply be that the big box set will contain within it a bunch of standard BR cases. In that sense, then, it's no big deal. You don't even need the big outer box, then. It may be pretty to look at, but you can always set it aside...
