ALEX ROSS movie?

I really like the artwork of ALEX ROSS, especially his Justice League material. Yeah, the writing is simplistic to some degree. But, to me, they are homages back to my early years of JLA, late 60s-early 70s, when the plots were 'out there' but fun to read...

And the art is terrific. My wife had made me three collages of his work, and framed them. I have them in my office and most people are amazed with his artwork.

Could they even do an animated movie in his style? The "norman rockwell' look, could it be done with out looking to cartoony???

I would like to see him try to produce an animated DVD of one of his books. I would buy in a heart beat!!!

Alex Ross' work could easlily be done in live-action and I think it would look a lot like Batman: Dead End. I think it would be easier to go that route rather than try to animate his paintings and overall style.

I guess I'm not sure what the point of animating an Alex Ross work. The whole point of his art work is that its pushing the edge of photo realism (to the point that he actually has models pose for him). His work is supposed to evoke the feeling that you are looking less at a painting and more of a photograph.

I think the way to do it would be old school rotoscoping like those old Max Fleischer Superman cartoons. That technique would give it a unique, surreal feel that CGI can't replicate; and I think it would be the only way to pull off theatrical photorealism in a manner evocative of Ross's work.

I have the large book of his best work, and some biographical stuff. There is a part where it shows the cover of a 1970s large comic-book LEGION OF SUPERHEROS. I use to have that large comic book, and hadn't seen the cover in nearly 30 years..and seeing it in ROSS's book was really cool....

He comes from my time which is why I think I like his material...
