The Hollywood Reporter said:
The CW is looking to expand its roster of DC Comics heroes.

The network, already home to Arrow and potentially The Flash, is developing a drama based on the Hourman characters published by the comics giant, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Hourman centers on a brilliant-yet-troubled pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that the visions that have plagued him since childhood are actually glimpses of tragic events occurring one hour in the future. Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way.

Well, didn't see this one coming. Got potential, though.

If that's not a joke, that sounds really cool. If it happened, I hope they'd take it in a superhero direction. I could see it being done as kind of an action thing without any costumes or villains. But, if they're going to the trouble of using DC's character, hopefully the main character would become a superhero/crimefighter.

Cant say the premise of this thrills me. Now the hooked on miraclo Hourman has possibilities but this doesnt really sound interesting.

Was that ever the premise of the character? I thought he took a drug that gave him super-powers for one hour.

The second Hourman did have the "Miraclo" pills as his main gimmick as did the first, but at some point he also gained some kind of tachyon-based hourglass that gave him visions of events an hour in the future.

^ Ooh, I loved that show.

I would never have guessed this, but I'm down for it if they do it well. It sounds like they're doing a mix of Rex and Rick from JSA, which I loved.

I'd be happy for Court again, they did her on Smallville (the very few late-season episodes I watched) and except for the mask I enjoyed what they did with her. Although the staff especially was a little bit... um let's say low-key.

They can do better.

Those little blue pills?

Miraclo yeah, though I thought they were yellow tablets? The "can see terrible things an hour before they happen" thing was introduced in the 90s/00s Justice Society as a secondary power. The article mentions him being a pharmaceutical analyst, so I can see them bringing the Miraclo in at some point.

My first thought was "who?," but after reading the description, I think it could work. The plot's been done a number of times with non-superhero characters, so they might struggle to differentiate it. Perhaps playing up the superhero aspects would help in that regard.

Little blue pills = Viagra.

i love the JSA so i'm all for an Hourman series. just as long as it doesn't turn into a tween drama and he finally gets a costume in season 10.

I don't see them starting with it, but Miraclo is too good to leave out. They could stretch out an entire season of stories concerning addiction and side effects - it would essentially be a grab at the Bradley Cooper Limitless audience .

All in all, I think CW is onto a good one with Hourman. It's a concept with a lot of potential but yet not a budget buster.

Well, it does say he's wanting to win back back his wife and son, so, they can't go too young

Given that most of the characters in Arrow, with only two exceptions, range from their upper 20s to their early 50s, I really wish people would get over the myth that all CW shows are about teenagers.

^It's allowed to do more than one show about a given premise.

Besides, the one-hour deadline would give this one more urgency than those other two, where they had a full day to avert the crisis. It would pretty much have to play out quite differently.
