Adventure Games

I haven't played any in a while and I must admit I've lost track of what's happening in the adventure gaming front.

The last games i remember playing were the Syberia games, The Longest Journey and Dreamfall.

So what's happening in that gaming area ? Is it still alive ? Are there any promising titles coming ?

Adventure games aren't dead (yet) :D. But sadly good ones are hard to find. Telltales published a few funny episodic games, such as "Sam & Max" and "Wallace & Gromit". They are short, but entertaining.

I've heard that "The Book of Unwritten Tales" is a good game, but it was developed and published in Germany and I don't know if there will be a dubbed version of it.

"The Lost Crown" looks at least good, but I haven't played it yet.

The best one I've recently is Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit... There is a new game in the same vein as that one coming out soon titled Heavy Rain that I am very anxious to play.

This is the place to go to for adventure game news.

Adventure games occupy a niche, no doubt; but a pretty healthy one from what I can see. Also a new Jane Jensen game is on the way. :techman:

cant forget my favorite Riven :techman:

oh yes. What great fun that was :bolian:

I used to visit that site a lot but haven't in quite some time. I will certainly be checking it out.

edit: Hey, I see Syberia 3 is coming out next June. Good news

I love adventure games but have never visited that site before. Thanks for the link, I found some promising games there that I hadn't heard of before! :D

^You're welcome. :)

Not sure how I feel about that really. I mean, the second game wrapped it all up pretty neatly. A third game seems likely to suffer the usual problems of a sequel to something that has already adequately explored its themes and finished its story, but I hope I'm wrong as Siberia is one of my favourite adventure games.
