Actors that Have Auditioned for a Role in Star Wars: Episode VII

Which actors/actresses do you know of that have auditioned for the new Star Wars movie? I know of course that various actors / characters might return from the earlier films, but I’m curious to know which new talent will have auditioned for a place in the Star Wars universe. We should keep a running list / thread of this topic

I started thinking about this ‘cause I just saw a Youtube interview of Saoirse Ronan and she said that she auditioned for a role. She doesn’t know which character she would play or anything about the character. She seems to wish that she never mentioned her auditioned to anyone (presumably just in case she doesn’t get the role).

Who else have you heard of auditioning? I haven’t been paying too much attention to news about Star Wars: Episode VII, so I don’t know what I missed in regards to which actors / actresses have auditioned for a role in the film.

Hard to audtion when there's no script.
Oh, they'll write little mockups for the actors just for the audition, or even make them deliver dialogue from the previous films. Happens all the time. That's what they do when they cast Bond girls, Doctor Who, etc.

At this point, with who is actually working on the film, I'd love it if Lucas was writing and directing :rommie: I don't care if VII would follow the adventures of jar Jar Binks's grand kids, I'd still prefer Lucas over who we got. I'd also prefer a brain dead chipmunk over who they got to do the movie, but that's beside the point

Yes, this opinion comes as a big surprise.

Lawerence Kasdan's ability to write good Wars films and JJ's ability to crank out popular sci-fi I think makes this film virtually a guaranteed success.

I do not get all of the JJ haters other than they simply don't like reformulated Trek - which is fine - but they'd also be liars if they didn't also admit that he's brought the franchise back from the brink of death that the B's had it trajected on.

This woman on CNN was just reporting on the NYSE and said, "That's Patrick Stewart there from Star Wars." Does she know something we don't know, or is she just an idiot?
