Actor Jonathan Frid (Dark Shadows) dies at 87

Just saw this reported. How very sad indeed. I had been wondering what he was up to, with the new movie coming out.
From MSNBC:

Actor Jonathan Frid, who played imposing and elegant vampire Barnabas Collins on the gothic soap opera "Dark Shadows," has died at 87. Frid passed away on April 14 from natural causes in his native Ontario.

What a shame. I loved him as Barnabas Collins-- such great memories of surreptitiously watching Dark Shadows in the afternoon (my mother forbid me to watch it, but Uncle Mike would let me watch at his place).

RIP, Mr Frid. I wish you were as eternal as your alter ego.

Mr.Frid was such an elegant, kind human being from every anecdote I'd hear told of him. The world is a bit lesser today for his loss.
