Am I the only one that didn't think Half Blood Prince was that great? I've kinda gotten bored with the Harry Potter Films.

Michael Bay? What kind of awards are these? Looks like a lot of categories didn't have enough quality nominees to fill them out.

Reminds me of the ALMA Awards, and how Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez were nominees.

No, you're not the only one. Never been a massive Potter fan, but the most recent film had me wishing for a pen so that I could stab myself in the eye.

ST XI got beaten by bloody Harry Potter for best film? Are there seriously more rabid boy wizard fanatics than Trekkies?

Who knows. The finalists and rankings are all over the frakkin' map. It's like someone just randomly listed some well known sf/f stuff. :wtf:

And where the frak is Lost?

That's what happens when you have very narrowly defined awards where there are probably less worthy nominees than nominee spots, like the NAACP Image Awards. I happened to tune into the ALMA Awards several years back where Emilio Estevez was a nominee for Freejack! And Charlie Sheen was a winner for Two and a Half Men.

The new films have gotten way to dark. I loved the first two... then the downhill slide began. I think the Percy Jackson & the Olympians film(s) may get back to family entertainment if done well. Chris Columbus is directing it/them.

Ya, I can't put my finger on it. I can handle dark movies, but it feels like while they are hours long, that they are rushed. First one was great as was the second. At the end of the third, I looked at my wife and said... "What just happened?" and when we got home, she read to me that part of the book the filled in all the blanks at the end. Seems like the thicker the book, the less I like the movie.

Certainly, the problem with the "Harry Potter" movies is the huge cast of supporting cast members. They try to give each one a moment to shine, so that fans of the books will get to see their quirky favourites, but some of the latter HP movies seemed to have random people knocking on dormitory doors just to get their face into the film long enough to deliver a single line each.

Star Trek should not have been beaten by Harry Potter. The last decent HP film was Azkaban.

ZQ should have come second, at least, if not first.

How the heck did Twilight actually make it in? It sucks.
