Abrams' description of the trailer scenes...

What in the world is he talking about?

Revealing stuff about Kirk's parents, as if the trailer told us this stuff?

And what's with his description of Nero and the guys Nero was with? Did anyone else NOT notice that in the trailer?

WHAT is the guy talking about?

Well, the parents stuff isn't part of the trailer, but I heard this plot point in a recent rumor. The part with Nero and the guys holding Nero prisoner was in the trailer and was already being discussed in a thread here for a couple of days now.

Here's another question-

The UGO response to the preview. "The Spock/Kirk/Scotty scene"?

WHAT scene? From the trailer? I didn't see it.
They are talking about scenes in the 20 minute "by invitation only" preview that some people had attended in Europe and in New York City.

It should be noted that while the first link offers a 32-picture commentary on the trailer, the Abrams quotes there aren't direct commentary. They are random Abrams comments inserted in more or less correct places, and adjoined by commentary that in at least one case goes seriously astray (misidentifying the Kelvin as the Enterprise). So Abrams probably isn't consciously revealing that Kirk's *** **** or anything like that, while the people putting together the commentary may not realize they are giving away things not yet commonly known.

That aside, it's amazing how much information is being divulged at this point...

^I know!

I was perfectly content with it the way it was. Now I have to make a conscious effort to avoid spoilers!
