About Rose and Locke

propita

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Flocke threatened to kill Rose if Desmond didn't come with him (am I remembering that right?), and Rose told Desmond not to go. A minute earlier, she told Desmond to leave--but she didn't want him to go with Flocke.

Did Rose totally distrust Locke a few seasons ago, saying she were never go with/follow "that man" anywhere?

In addition to her being cured, did she get some "island" insight? Or was it just her normal judgment? She didn't have a huge problem with him in the flash-sideways, once she straightened him out about self-pity.

It was made pretty clear a few seasons ago that Rose thought Locke was not to be trusted, whether or not she knew he was now the Smoke Monster.

And why would she have a problem with him in the flash-sideways? She didn't remember anything about him.

Funny how they made that big connection at the end of SOS knowing that they had both been healed, only for her to hate his guts.

I just wondered if there'd be some "carry-over" or if, like Locke and Jack, things would be just fine.

BTW, RoJoHen,are you a Disney fan or you like the idea of battling dragons?

An underestimated movie with an interesting animation style care of Eyvind Earl--all angular.

Hubby and I are Disney fans of sorts.

At the end of the season 4 premier. "The Beginning Of The End", just after Naomi dies, there is a massive reunion, ironically at the site of the 815 cockpit. Everyody chooses between going with Jack to the beach or with Locke to the barracks, & Bernard offers Rose the chance to go with Locke, because she'd expressed that she never wanted to leave the island. She responds by saying she's not going anywhere with "That Man"

^Well, he did just put a knife into Naomi's head....

After that, I don't think I'd follow him either. :vulcan:

That's the scene I had in mind. She rejected him--which is kinda weird since she knows he was also healed.

Yes, but that was before she knew he was a kook who knifed people to death because he believed in a talking island.

Off Topic: You know what amazes me about that scene? Jack actually pulls the trigger on Locke. There's never really been much talk about that, but I found that highly significant

Kind of funny that Rose is all for going with Jack after that

Not really.

Locke was killing people because he was crazy and wanted to keep everyone on the Island.

Jack was willing to kill Locke because he wanted to try and save everyone and Locke was getting in the way of that.

I'm pretty sure Rose would know the difference.

One was a "religious" fanatic trying to force everyone to accept his point of view and keep them stranded on the Island.

The other was willing to kill to try and save everyone and get them off of the Island (or at least give them a choice to leave. I doubt Jack would have forced Rose or anyone else to get on a helicopter and leave).

Who would you side with?

^At that point, probably Hurley. The most recent revelation was that the freighter people were not with Penny, & were not necessarily a search & rescue operation, & were quite possibly being fraudulent as to their intentions. I just think that, by then, things were no longer black & white Locke fanaticism vs. Jack perseverance

Because hey, some days you just gotta think like Sawyer

I recall Bernard telling someone (maybe Desmond) that he didn't go with Locke in Season 4 because Locke was a murderer, referencing his killing of Naomi.

Would love to see Hurley explain to Rose and Bernard about what really happened with Locke being the Smoke Monster.

At the time of that scene - Locke kills Naomi and Jack pulls the trigger on Locke - no one knew anything about who was on the frieghter. ... I haven't seen that scene since the original airing, but, I'm thinking ... there may have been a line or two about it, when Locke killed Naomi. No one had any time to discuss anything - and Locke certainly didn't know anything about who was or wasn't on the freighter.
