Where and how did life on Earth first arise?

Absolutely. I toured the Kennedy Space Center once and there was a guy there who told us that no matter how clean and sanitized they kept the water and holding tanks, bacteria would eventually grow.

Are the hidden crevices of an engineered water tank able to hide or host life that can survive a NASA sanitation procedure, or is it the water that can't be fully sterilized? Maybe life spontaneously forms and we just don't recognize that is what happens, instead of life slipping through the cracks in our sterilizing procedures.

We don't notice the new, spontaneous life because it looks just like the life we see all around us. :shrug:

Yeah. Do you have a microscope? You could try it with various samples of different mineral additives too. Which ones stay life-free longer? Does the ph change over time? Does light make a difference?

Yeah, panspermia is plausible, but complex eukaryotic life does seem to have developed here on Earth perhaps just over two billion years after prokaryotic life got started. Our equivalent of midichlorians are mitochondria. The latter don't give us Force powers, but they might be responsible for sex and death besides powering our cells.

Mitochondria are tiny structures located inside our cells that carry out the essential task of producing energy for the cell. They are found in all complex living things, and in that sense, they are fundamental for driving complex life on the planet. But there is much more to them than that.

Mitochondria have their own DNA, with their own small collection of genes, separate from those in the cell nucleus. It is thought that they were once bacteria living independent lives. Their enslavement within the larger cell was a turning point in the evolution of life, enabling the development of complex organisms and, closely related, the origin of two sexes. Unlike the DNA in the nucleus, mitochondrial DNA is passed down exclusively (or almost exclusively) via the female line. That's why it has been used by some researchers to trace human ancestry daughter-to-mother, to "Mitochondrial Eve".

Mitochondria give us important information about our evolutionary history. And that's not all. Mitochondrial genes mutate much faster than those in the nucleus because of the free radicals produced in their energy-generating role. This high mutation rate lies behind our ageing and certain congenital diseases. The latest research suggests that mitochondria play a key role in degenerative diseases such as cancer, through their involvement in precipitating cell suicide. Mitochondria, then, are pivotal in power, sex, and suicide.

Also I believe in the oscillating universe that yes we live in the universe but it was one of many and made from a big bang, but expansion paused and it contracted making an even bigger bang, and a new universe spawned.
