A trip abroad.....

So I am in the early planning stages of taking a trip to celebrate turning 30. The trip is 18-30 months away, depending on some factors. I am still working on picking a destination. My early thoughts are a Uruguay-Argentina-Brazil trip, A Western Europe trip that would at minimum include stops in Alsace, Bremen, Friesen Islands, and Gdansk, and an Iberian Peninsula swing. Do you any of y'all have any helpful thoughts or suggestions on this?

None yet...but I'm curious as to your motivation for selecting those particular places/countries.

Also, how much traveling have you done in the past? Are you planning to travel independently? With a friend? In an organized group?

All of that sort of impacts any suggestions I might have.

In any event, I hope you have a nice time - traveling is a big passion of mine, and I'm always happy to see others recognizing it's value.

I'm involved in agriculture which is the motivation for the South American trip, plus I've always been fascinated by Uruguay. The Western Europe trip is to visit ancestral homes, and the Iberian one because it seems like it would be fun. It maybe just me, or I may have companions. I've mostly traveled with in the United States at this point.
