A Tribute to The Enterprise-D

Tiberius Jim

Vice Admiral

Here's the final product of the last few months of work, pushing the boundaries of my skills and learning new ones along the way. The ships of Star Trek have always been as much characters of the show as the crew are, and this is a tribute to my favorite of them all.

Oh my, absolutely stunning! This is jaw-droppingly beautiful to watch, thanks so much for sharing it with us. It’s clear that every frame of this was a labor of love. You captured the beauty of the Enterprise-D design very well and I love how heavy and huge the ship seems. And the choice of music is also inspired. Very nice indeed!

These are my favorite sequences …

Thank you! Indeed, each scene was meticulously put together, sometimes taking a few iterations even after rendering completely to really fine-tune things. I had found myself rushing past projects to meet a self-imposed due date, and I told myself that wouldn't be the case this time. I'm glad the feeling of the size and grandeur of the ship came across; it's definitely what I was going for!

Beautiful work, very nicely done. The only thing bad about that video is that it took me ages to figure out what the music was reminding me of (turns out that it was the track 'Flight' from the movie Man of Steel).

One thing I'd like to see someone tackle is for a Galaxy backed up to Spacedock now outfitted with an arm that attaches to Ent-D's spine...as Probert intended.

I don't remember that being done (thumbing through SOTL calendars).

JTVFX depicted something like that in their Wolf 359 Prelude video:
