Is it just me or do you get a BSG reboot feel to the trailer....and personal force fields aside they really need to wear helmets

It does reminds me of a BSG reboot with the style and the religious themes but it looks pretty good so I'm definitely going to give it a chance. I find it hard to believe that they are shooting to fund this for $25k per episode, unless each episode is 10 minutes long. It sounds like they will initially be using it as a proof of concept before submitting it to the networks.

Well, you know, state-mandated religious indoctrination sucks; it's not something we have nearly as much of on this end of the world as we used to. So that's an interesting piece of the potential drama.

Dune, of course, is one modestly successful example of science fiction engaging themes of religion in a future society.

At least the synopsis for this project contains at least one character, and one with a personal challenge/conflict that's not absolutely generic cookie-cutter stuff at that. That's reason for optimism.
