A Singular Destiny

Man of Steel

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I am not sure if this was asked yet or not but how soon after the events of Destiny does Singular Destiny takes place?

I think it happens right on the heels of the Destiny trilogy, but I guess KRAD would be the authority on this:)

^ It actually kicks off a couple of months after Lost Souls ends.

My mom got found an email this morning telling her that it's available on Amazon now. She's ordered Star Trek and/or KRAD books for me before so anytime something in those catagories comes out they email her.

^ Huh. I just checked Amazon, and it's still listed as "not yet released." Blorfle.

Check again.

Barnes and Nobles has it in and shows it as shipping within 2-3 days.
Well, shockingly enough, Barnes and Noble's stock status hasn't magically had an effect on Amazon, where it's still listed as available for pre-order but not yet released, and where my months-old pre-order is still "not yet shipped."

Did the Amazon e-mail actually say it was in stock, or just that it was available for pre-order? Sometimes they send e-mails to let people know about forthcoming books they might want.

Don't know, she just asked if what book it was because she got an email about it. I thought she said it was because it was available, but apparently I must have been mistaken.

From my inbox:

"Dear Amazon.com Customer,
As someone who has purchased or rated books by Peter David, you might like to know that Star Trek: A Singular Destiny will be released on January 27, 2009. You can pre-order yours by following the link below."

Apparently, Keith, even though I've ordered books by you from Amazon, it's more important to them that I've ordered Peter David's....

My copy arrived today, or uh yesterday now I suppose, I don't really have much time this week, but I failed to exercise any self control and accidentally got myself half way through already before I eventually succumbed to my exhaustion and fell asleep. Which as I suppose that indicates.... I'm really enjoying it so far, another KRAD volume that seems to span the entire Trekverse. I hope it does well enough to justify more in this vein in future, as this is pretty much my favourite sort of Trek-novel.

^ It isn't intended to be a specific planet, but rather is representative of all the planets devastated by the events of Destiny.

I'm looking forward to the book for the content but I'm also because I find the cover so interesting. I can't wait to hold the book in my hands so I can look it over.

I hope the fact that it doesn't have a picture of one of our heroes or a ship on the cover doesn't hurt sales. :(
