A Singular Destiny annotations

KRAD

Keith R.A. DeCandido
Admiral
I've finally finished putting together annotations for A Singular Destiny.

Be warned that there are spoilers for all kinds of things here. However, I do explain all the references in the book, both obvious and arcane, plus explaining where some of the songs came from and what I was thinking when I named some folks and where you've seen that guy before and other useless factoids. It's not necessary to read these annotations to appreciate the book, of course, but it's a nice little bit of background.

Enjoy!

I noticed something you might want to correct:

Page 132:

Eisn was established as the sun orbiting Romulus and Remus in My Enemy, My Ally.

I think you mean in the other way around.

:brickwall:

Thanks. This is what happens when you finish the thing at 3am. :guffaw:

Anyone else has corrections, please feel free to post them here or e-mail them to me at keith at decandido dot net. Again, thanks!

I just made some corrections, and also added annotations for the dedication, which I forgot to do on the first go-round...

Thanks for posting the annotations, KRAD. Very informative :). I still haven't read any of the SCE books (i've got a few of the collections with more on the way for a massive read), so reading about some of the various crew members in the annotations was cool. Can't wait to read the series...

Agent Wexler was first seen in AOTF. he was given his first name of Steven in Destiny...
Uhm, there was no Wexler in AotF.

Might want to look at the note for page 104...
Already fixed that, thanks. :)

You're welcome, and you're in for a treat. :D

On the annotations for Page 113, Thomas Alan Chafin is a crew memeber, instead of a crew member, of the Enterprise-D.

my bad. wexler's in ATT Kill.

To be fair, we don't know from the actual book if that's the same Wexler or not. In ATtK, the Wexler we meet is a transporter operator -- not necessarily something that the presidential protection agency would be doing. But not something they wouldn't be doing, either.

BTW, re: annotations: Efrosians were first established in the person of the Saratoga helm officer in ST4, not President Ra-ghoratreii.

It was my intention that it be the same character, simply transitioned into a new, civilian job with the coming of a new administration. He's named for a friend of mine.

Someone forgot to mention a couple of cartoon cameos (can't believe I missed Byron Fantomos).
