A note about copying and pasting to the new software

Folks, I've been testing to see what's going on with the font codes that seem to keep coming up now and again when people do a straight copy and paste from Word into the new board software.

I've encountered issues with font changes (like from Times New Roman to Arial) and with font size changes. These seem to be transferring either with the coding we've seen, or just transferring as straight text with no changes at all.

Bold, italics, underline and combinations of those codes have come across okay.

I'm still trying things out to see if I can find a way for font changes and font size changes to transfer, but if you've got them in your stories, you may want to take them out before you post them. Otherwise, you should be okay.

If I find a way to get this to work, I'll let you know.

Apparently its that whole IE thing-I'm having no problem with the smilies, et al in Firefox!

Oh, definitely. IE appears to be at the heart of the issue. If anyone else has the problem with the code showing up, please let me know and let me know what browser you're using. Right now, Firefox seems to be giving the least amount of problems.

Update: The problems with IE6 and the editor window should be fixed. Please let me know if you run across anything bizarre, IE6 users.

Personally I think the easiest way to fix it is to switch to firefox, but thats just me.

I have the same problems under Firefox 2.0.12
