I would love the Kelvin Timeline to be a nice alternative, but licencing can be an incredibly sticky process especially with the dividing line between Paramount and CBS. The Aliens vs Predator game from Prodos suffered incredible delays as Fox licencing had to sign off on every single aspect in the game, even as far as dictating where and how prominent the 20th Century Fox copyright logo had to be on the box.

Plus the Prime Timeline has a much deeper background to pull from.

Now of course Modiphius will not stop you from PERSONALLY creating adventures and games in the Kelvin universe, they would just be unable to offer any official support.
