While I'm, uh, between jobs (though starting a new one soon), this is the kind of job I'd like to apply for, but sadly can't. Maybe one fo you guys might like it.

Best job in the woirld? Oh, yes.

The Queensland Government and Tourism Queensland are offering a $150,000 six-month contract for someone to live and work on Hamilton Island, in the state's north, as a travel reporter, blogger and pool cleaner.

I've been to Hamilton Island, it really is very nice. Look up some pics on the google, and tell me you don't want this.

One more responsibility that they failed to mention: You must enter the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 and 42 into a computer every 108 minutes or there will be a magnetic storm, the sky will change color and your "villa" will implode.

I'd apply, except that one of the job requirements is to be a good swimmer. I can swim, but I'll never be seen off as a "good" swimmer.

Read the fine print:

You will be a guest at the estate of a General Zaroff and his servant Ivan. Activities include big game hunting, tree-climbing, running, woodland crafts, cliff-diving, and fun with dogs. Don't consider it odd that there is no big game indigenous to the island, we will import yo... it. The Queensland government is not liable if you should become shot, skinned, stuffed, or mounted during your stay on the island. Participants will be required to sign a release for the FOX network's new reality show 'Australia's Most Dangerous Game.'

Does sound like a pretty cool gig, though.

Given the number of likely applicants there will be, I wonder if they plan to conduct this like a raffle or if they're looking for some sort of special qualifications.
