Let's all of us create a comprehensive list of all races or individual characters that are genetically engineered in some significant way...

please feel free to go beyond listing them. I want to hear your comments and opinions on your beliefs regarding the practice, or what you think the producers think about it, what they were trying to say when they created the race or character you mention, and how the huge population of GE people enhances or detracts from the vast ST universe!

I want this to eb a fun fresh debate that deals less with new worlds and more with the tampered ones!
I'll start:
The Vorta.. genetically engineered by the Founders to be the ultimate diplomats and strategists, they have intelligence but bad senses for sight, taste, and aesthetics. A wise move to make them immune to most poisons..

Julian Bashir - genetically engineered by his parents during his childhood for greater intelligence. I won't say that the decision was ethical, but the result was successful, and the story potential was used pretty well in DS9 and the novel Cathedral.

The Suliban. They got stuck being in the least popular of all Star Trek series in history. Even the one that was on the air for fewer seasons!

Human and Klingon augments... Amazing how easily our DNA can be tricked up to work on other species...
