A most interesting 'what if' scenario...

Should the story's chapters be put onto their own separate pages?

Ever wonder what would happen if someone had access to Star Trek's technology today? Ever wonder what that person might do with a whole fleet of Federation starships? Ever wonder what could happen if that person were you?

I sure did.

That's what inspired my idea for a Star Trek novel, which is doomed to just being fan fiction since it involves none of the characters from the canon.

The story follows the trials, tribulations and misadventures of a man named Marcus Montillaro. He's given control of a real Starfleet and tasked by some unknown omnipotent being to 'improve the Human condition however possible.' Marcus takes that to mean that he should stamp out authoritarianism and terrorism. And that's exactly what he does over the course of about four years.

Anyone interested in this story? I've already written the whole thing and had it on my website for some time now. You can download a ZIP folder with all the chapters in the form of MS Word documents from this page here:

I can put each chapter on it's own separate page, if it's requested by enough people. However, that will have to wait until I have the time to do it, probably this Friday or Saturday.

I would say that most people that I know would be having sex with holograms on the holodeck for about 20 hours a day minimum.

I would imagine that most people would be very wary of downloading and opening a zip file from the internet. In fact, many security systems will disallow it. Html pages would be more likely to be read.

HTML pages will be made available sometime this weekend. Also, I'd never give anyone a virus. That's just not cool. Some of us make a living with our computers.

One of my characters does make a joke about that in Chapter 4. There's actually quite a good bit of sardonic humor in this story.

Not saying you would give anyone a virus, msbae. Just that most people won't d/l and open a zip file on principle because of the high risk. :)

Here's Chapter 1 on it's own HTML page, for your viewing pleasure.

Looking back on it now, that 1st chapter really reads like fanwank. However, the grammar is far superior to the typical fanwank so... yeah...

That, and the story is quite original too. How often can you say that about fan fiction on the internet?

Also, I have to warn you. The first 4 chapters are, in my opinion, a little slow in the pacing at times. However, the action really picks up in Chapter 5.
