A Matter of Perspective..better than I remembered!

This episode never really registered with me when I originally watched it, but aside from some dodgy acting from the guest cast, it was a lot better than I remembered. I especially liked Picard's wrap up at the end of the case. I'd give it a 7/10 rating.

Yeah, I liked this ep too. The concept is borrowed from somewhere else I can't remember, but I thought it was executed pretty well. Somehow, it does feel slightly dated, but I enjoy rewatching it anyway.

Hmm, I always found this one of the more boring episodes, mainly because there's no real suspense, we know Riker didn't actually do what any of the gueststars is accusing him off.

That aside, I found the way the hearing was set-up pretty cool and nifty use of the holodeck too :techman:

I liked this episode, too. The simulated explosion in the holodeck destroying the simulation of the space station was cool -- although, since the simulation was realistic enough to burn holes in the Enterprise, one might surmise that the explosion at the end would have been real. Oh well. :)

There's a moment in sickbay when they are discussing the disturbances (I think) and Bev gives Riker a killer sideways look. I love that moment.

The concept of telling the same story from different character points of view is not a new or innovative concept, but I always liked Trek's take on it in this episode. It isn't better than I remembered. It was always pretty good.

Voyager did the same story in season one with Paris and some married bird-like woman. However, in the Voyager ep, I think it's implied they did the nasty.

I've since assumed that Picard and crew were covering up for Riker. That Riker, acting from instructions by Section 31, did kill the scientist.

Its borrowed from Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece, "Rashomon".

Great movie! I highly recommend it.

Paris was setup on the premise that he was trying to get with the scientist's wife. It wasn't true though. Not that it matters, that episode really sucks.

That's why he kept turning down command opportunities! Section 31 wanted some covert control of the flagship! Is there anything they're not responsible for?

I skipped this on my DVD watch through earlier in the year on the grounds that I had poor memories of it. I may go back to it and give it its fair chance.
