A Love Letter to The Motion Picture

^

My feelings as well. From my first viewing of TMP on December 23, 1979 to all the subsequent views of it over the years, it has remained my favorite Trek film by far. It was the one that actually felt like a realistic science-fiction film, with a sense of wonder about the universe that few other movies have matched (2001 and Contact are two that immediately come to mind).

Planning on picking up P-Plus the first week of June, so I'll finally get to check out the new version of the DE.

This also was the last in a year of space movies. Star Wars set the tone for adventure. The crime movies and car chases were giving it a rest. Prophecy and ALIEN scared us…as did THE BLACK HOLE…MOONRAKER gave us a look at STS right around the corner…but TMP put a bow on everything.
