I picked up a tape a while back of a parody of the MST3K crew taking a swipe at "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier". Thankfully, I've managed to have it transferred to DVD before I ended up wearing out the tape. Well, rather than just have the thing in a nondescript envelope or plain old case, I wanted something special for this exceptional production, so, with the help of a MST3K fan site (MST3K DVD Covers), I think I've got something suitable. If you have this same video extravaganza, emjoy.
Okay... are you saying this is a REAL MST3K episode (which I missed) or is it someone else pretending to be the MST3K guys doing TrekV? If it's a REAL one... I can't believe I've never seen it, and I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!
I suspect I have my dates incorrect, but I find it interesting that MST3K was created roughly about the same time Trek V appeared. It's almost as though the cosmos was trying to seek balance for the, ahem, awkward nature of ST 5. Let's face it, "The Search for G*d", oops, sorry, I mean "The Final Frontier" seems like it especially produced for "Mystery Science Theater". Sincerely, Bill
Mike and the cast have been continuing the MSTie tradition with actual movie movies for the past few years with a series of Rifftrax. The ST V Rifftrax can be found here: http://www.rifftrax.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=41
Okay, a brief bit of research turned SOMETHING up... is this the one you're talking about? http://www.eskimo.com/~rkj/MST.html#How
I've watched ST:Undiscovered Country with the Rifftrack, it feels good to have Mike and the guys back in action. I've already downloaded and watched the Battlefield Earth, Aeon Flux, Willie Wonka and LOTRs rifftracks, and have a couple more ready to go. Heavenly.
