A Journey

OK TNG fans, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but have had too many distractions. I’m thinking of watching TNG from the beginning all the way through to the end; which is the best closing episode in of all of Star Trek. Are there any others out there that want to make this journey?

Perhaps we could have a pinned thread for the journey as we venture from the beginning to the end of the most popular Star Trek series of them all. Granted there will be a few bumps and some bad episodes along the way, but it could be fun.

What do yall think of this idea?

I think it's a great idea...unfortunately, I just started watching Babylon 5 for the first time and I forsee myself watching that during whatever freetime I have. Maybe I can swing it - if a lot of other people express interest, then I'd consider it.

Running through B5 is a fantastic experience. I love that show. If you are watching it for the first time, you are a lucky person. Go for it.

By the way, it gets really good between seasons two and four. Five is good, but it's an afterthought.

I finished TNG beginning to end a few weeks ago. I started watching DS9 from the beginning after Chain of Command, and alternated to keep the chronology straight. Starting DS9 season 4 tonight. Watched Generations last week.

It's fun to watch it all together like this, to see the storylines develop.

Just grabbed Seasons Two and Three, so I'm good to go for awhile...but I'm afraid I'll be moving along at my own pace.

Sounds good, actually. It's been much too long since I rewatched TNG, and something like this may be just the incentive I need to start - and, more importantly, stick with it.

If it happens, count me in. :bolian:

I'll try to participate. I had started watching all of TNG earlier this year but then got sidetracked with what I called "The Summer of Farscape." I might go home next week to pick up Season 1 and 2 of TNG so I can try and get involved. Sounds like a great idea.

I'll start with season one tomorrow after the football game. What I'm thinking is after each DVD, post some commentary about the episodes and the extras, if any. It's been a very long time since I've seen some of these season one episodes.

Perhaps a pace of two, maybe three DVDs a week if I have time.

I have been watching my TNG dvds. One episode a day usually. I'm up to season 3. The last one I watched was Yesterday's Enterprise, my favorite episode!!!!

I live in Asia now and really would love to have TOS and TNG on DVD.
I'd love to have a litlle routine, if my girlfriend would let me, of coming home and watching an episode a night. Sigh.

Good idea. I wish I had my DVDs with me, but I might not get them until this upcoming weekend at the earliest.

I'm in the middle of the journey right now, three episodes before the exact halfway mark. My pace may not be the same as yours, but I might chime in from time to time with my comments. Have fun watching the greatness that is TNG!

Looks like I'll be able to 'join the journey' since I'm spending over $3000 on a Yamaha workstation and won't be buying any DVD's for a while!

I had an idea - could we do a 'Grade and Discussion' thread for sets of episodes? For example, we could watch an episode a day and do a 'Grade and Discussion' thread once a week (7 episodes in each thread then) and be able to vote 1-10 for each one?

Just an idea. I've really liked the idea of these threads in other forums and it's always interesting to see how your 'grade' of an episode matches up with others and what they think of each episode, etc.

I've always been tempted to watch TNG and DS9 in chronological order with them overlapping. I wish SpikeTV would do that while including VOY.

Might be a good idea. I have all seven seasons, so it shouldn't be too hard. And this would be a good opportunity to watch episodes I haven't seen yet. I just hope my roommate would be able to put up with it. :p
