A Great Introduction to Star Trek: Excelsior

A lot of people have asked us lately, "Hey, Team Excelsior! We think your show, which we know is available at StarShipExcelsior.com, sounds like a rollicking good time. But the stories are so long! Can't we just get a standalone episode so we can listen and see if we enjoy it?"

You asked, we delivered.

Earlier this year, we held a script-writing competition. It was a glorious battle between some very good scripts and some very good writers. On July 1st, we announced the winner: Chris Chan Roberson of New York, for his script, "No One Gets Out Alive."

This Boxing Day (that is, today), that episode has been released. It's an hour long, standalone, and a terrific listen. So, to the fans: go enjoy a brand new episode while you wait for Season Three to get started in March. To those who haven't yet sailed on the good ship Excelsior, here's your chance to give us a try!

Either way, the place you want to go is StarshipExcelsior.com!

Congratulations to Chris, and thanks particularly to TrekBBS member MikeH, who took on the sizable responsibility of executive production for this entire episode while I have been away in Italy. We hope you enjoy "No One Gets Out Alive" as much as we enjoyed making it!

There was a technical glitch that was causing downloads to cut off about halfway through...to coin a phrase "bugger"...

Anyway, that has been resolved. We hope you enjoy this special episode and will be inspired to join our forum and provide us with the feedback that will help us make Excelsior even better!

Better? Clearly you haven't heard your own episode straight-through yet, Mike. You did quite a good job with it, if I may say so. Only thing I'd've tweaked would've been some of the volume levels and one or two of Antony's non-canon sfx.

So, forget feedback! Just say nice things to Mike.

Me? Me you can criticize. I've got to do one darned thing for this whole episode -- upload it -- and I screwed it up. At least it's fixed now. Anyone who got a bad copy of the episode (roughly half of downloads before we fixed the problem) can redownload it from our reliable mirror (provided by the redoubtable Michael Hudson), located here.

Happy Boxing Day!
