I used to think that Star Trek fans were robust individuals of high ethical and social virtue. Now I see that you people are just consumers of popular culture. Gossipers. Conformists. Lawn-mowing suburbanites. Clueless American drones. Buffy fans. Cheap, plastic little punks.

Amuse yerselves with a few more novel titles.

It's a joke! All fiction is mere entertainment.

    Stupid adolescent gestures. Speak clearly.
Begone with your Memes and popular culture references.

You're a Ward of the State.

Again with the flip remarks. You sound like some teenager in LA who thinks the whole world lives and thinks JUST LIKE HIM.

I'm gone from here as well.

You people. "Hey! Ho! Go With The Flow!"

Mowed much yet this year in Peoria or Fresno or whatever suburban wasteland you live in?

Looking at this guy's post history, it seems he finally happened across T'Bonz's radar screen, and that ended as you'd expect it might.

    Ah, well.

    Yeah... he gone.

btw - just in case anyone is thinking "I had an idea for a fun thread, but trampledamage just closed his" I closed it because of his responses. The original post was a waste of time, but that's not always a bad thing.

I'm just trying to figure out why lawn care seemed to bother him so much.

While our unlamented friend no doubt considers Tumblr an example of everything that's wrong with America, or would if he wasn't stuck in a time-loop reliving the same day six months before I was born, just today I saw an interesting post-cussion succinctly explaining why lawns are stupid and terrible. Doubt that was what he was going for.

Could there be an epic Treklit miniseries about lawns? Wait. The Genesis Wave. Never mind.

Don't forget that TNG episode where Wesley was sentenced to death for walking on the grass! :)

I never really thought about where the concept of lawns came from. I had no idea. I have noticed that the men in my neighbourhood do seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on perfecting them. Never understood that compulsion. I mow it when I have to, but it's more out of a sense of guilt than anything else. I'm just not really an "outdoor" person.

I've long wanted to replace my lawn, too... but in my imagination, it was always just turning it into one big concrete patio, so that's probably even worse for the environment. :(

I step away from the Lit board for a couple days and The Original Series has apparently been cancelled??

    ...

    Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

If you weren't around since TOS cancelation you might have missed more than a few days.... I'd reccomend meeting up with the DTI. Or with the doctor...

I would readily abandon everyone and everything to do just that. I've even told my parents this, lol (about the Doctor, anyway).

I'll give him some points for originality as I never expected to see the phrase "go mow your lawn" to be used as an insult. We should totally try to make that a thing.

I've already said this to two coworkers and plan on expanding it to my own friends. Also, conformist is definitely re-entering my vocab as of today as well.

Maybe "soulless minions of orthodoxy" is due for a comeback.
