There aren't many good TNG fanvids out there, but this one rocks--or should I say "swings"? A classic, old school look at the character of Will Riker. I bet you Good Will Riker is going to love this one. http://sdwolfpup.imeem.com/video/7TEO9Hhs/sttng_kickinthehead/
He's so cute. Nice video. There aren't that many TNG vids out there on the net. I think TNG's vidding heyday was probably the convention videos during the show's run.
While many people would interpret that as a double-edged compliment, I'll take it in the spirit in which it was intended. (I kinda liked "Shades of Grey" too, don't tell anyone.) Yeah, that was what got me into vidding in the first place. When I say "into vidding," I mean "listening to the radio while in primary school and imagining TNG scenes set to music." There are still songs that I think of as Riker/Troi songs based on what I was listening to when I was under ten!
I'd love to make a fanvid someday... But I dunno where to get clips to put in a fanvid. And they can't be .mov files because Windows Movie Maker won't accept those.
Most people rip them from DVDs that they own. Vidding isn't easy but there are tons of "how to" guides out there if you have a look around. This one is technical but very complete: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/ This is a really good index to some of the stuff that's out there: http://jarrow272.livejournal.com/882354.html
I tried fanvid once, but it's kinda tough and I only succeeded with pics, not clips. However, I'm determined to learn
Same here, actually. The only complete vid I've done is all pictures. Still, it got across what I wanted it to get across, and it was fun.
