A Fan Fic Universe

Love the idea! It reminds me of how Robert Asprin's Thieve's World came to be. However, I think there's already a ton of stuff written and shown The Dominion War. I would suggest setting it in the missing era of either Enterprise-B or Enterprise-C.

Enterprise-B era would be good. According to the lore, the B was a thorn to the Romulans, and also discovered the Cardassians and Bajorans. A ship with a fair few years of service and a mysterious disappearance.

Another option, if you want time frame to be during a war, you could use the Federation-Cardassian War which was a few years before TNG/Far Point.

It could be something that we lead into, building upon the Enterprise-B era material.

I also think considering at wars like the Federation-Tzenkethi War, the war with the Talarians, or even the Sheliak in the 23rd century if you wanted to do a big crossover series around a war. That being said, there isn't much out there either about the wider Klingon-Federation War in "Errand of Mercy." And then perhaps the granddaddy of them all, the Earth-Romulan War.

It could be an exploration series, or about a small conflict, or a mixture of elements. Imagine how the Marvel Cinematic Universe wove various strands together.

I'd have to say maybe. I would be more interested in doing something during the Earth-Romulan War/Early Federation era or the TOS era.
