When I watched the five minute sneak peek, I couldn't help but note how Robert Carlyle's character seemed to have an ulterior motive for opening the gate like he did.
If this series is basically Lost In Space, I wonder if he'll wind up being the "Dr. Smith" of the group. And I'm not trying to be snarky here--although feel free to take whatever humor you want from this.
I'm just wondering if Carlyle's character is supposed to be an antagonist, a potential enemy, within the group--much like Dr. Smith was, but without the over the top camp. If anybody can play this sort of thing to perfection, it'll be Carlyle.
