A doctor's phobia...

Dr. Leonard McCoy had a phobia or two... which one would you say is the most prominent? Fear of death? (thanatophobia) Fear of flying and subsequently dying? (aviophobia). Or was it a fear of transporters?

Bonus points for the episode # the phobia occurred in.

The best line I can think of off the top of my head here is from Encounter At Farpoint (is that cheating then since it was TNG?!) but there will be countless others. McCoy says to Data-:

"Have you got some reason you want my atoms scattered all over space, boy?"

Almost as good, from "Obsession":

"Crazy way to travel, spreading a man's molecules all over the universe."

There were a few instances in TOS where McCoy expressed reluctance to use the transporter. He didn't want to use the transporter in TMP or Wrath of Khan. And by the time of TNG, he had the rank to use whatever mode of transport he wanted.

Many years ago, I wrote a filk about McCoy's transporter-phobia (tune Frere Jacques):

Mister Scott, Mister Scott,
Transporter's out, transporter's out!
Take a shuttlecraft, take a shuttlecraft...
Think I'll walk. Think I'll walk!
