Even in the outtake scene they have Riker explaining the plot! OTOH, I like the moment between him and Data, and Data's concern for Geordi.

^Thanks for posting the clip, by the way, K Star. I think the moment with Data being concerned for Geordi and Riker being concerned for Data is quite unusual. It's not often characters express worry for each other in that way, I don't think, especially not Data.

I liked that too. That's why I kinda wish they had kept it.

I'm certainly in favor of someone explaining the plot as soon as they figure out what it is. Might have it straight by the 20th Anniversary re-release if we're lucky and everyone gets out and pushes.

I've never even heard of that scene... You sure you're not talking about the part where he kinda freezes as the chip fuses into his neural net?

As I understan it, after Data falls down after saying "Sometrhing is wrong with me", he has a sseizure for like a minute while Geordi is unable to do anything, and then cut to him stopping and getting up with the fusing.

Would have made that scene a lot more dramatic, for sure.

From what I remember from when I saw the Data scene a few years back (when the original Section31.com first posted all the deleted scenes from the film) it wasn't so much a seizure but rather just lots more of the same as what you actually see in the final film. IIRC towards the end it looked and sounded like Data was having his first orgasm...
