A Continuum question

USS Kongo

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Our heroine, Kiera Cameron, a cop from 2077, gets sent back in time to the horrible era of 2012. So she deals with the situation as best she can by getting a job as a cop working with the VPD.

But how is she getting paid? Her credentials as an agent with Section 6 are made up, so she can't be drawing money there. In the early episodes, the police inspector said he was setting up a task force to deal with the terorrist threat. Could she be drawing a salary from that?

Or is she still ripping off ATM machines like she did in the pilot? ;) Just wondering.

Good question...never thought about that.
I guess Kellogg is the Sugar Daddy? Hmm...very intesting...or Alec loaning her some money somehow?

Also One more week for Continuum on SyFy...the Canadian people have been talking about it on the main thread, so I have avoided it. Anxious to hear the conversation -- but without spoilers

If Alec is able to set her up as a government agent well enough to pass police scrutiny, getting her a bank account shouldn't be much of a problem either. Ditto finding funds for that account.

But that's theft.

Is it just me or can she possibly see through cards?

Meanwhile... Surely she's had some sort of... If I was a time traveller trapped in 1970... I would not know shit about sports to bet on... If I was a time traveller stuck in 2012, I would still not know shit about sports to bet on.

Although I do take enough solace in the fact that any one who has gone to the trouble of memorizing 40 years of football results and horse races would be exactly the sort of person to kill their own grandfather.

Since the joint task force is funded by Escher's company, Piron, I assume that she's on Piron's payrole.

Rachel Nichols is extremely attractive, in a real woman, non-FX kind of way. But the character is a company cop. Making an honest living has never been a concern for her. If time paradoxes were possible, the only happy ending for this series would be Liber8/Theseus to win.

Did you not watch the show?

When you are born, you owe the Corporations millions of dollars for shit your parents and grandparents did.

The bail out.

Life debt.

Seriously horrible things happen to you if you don't keep up with the payments.

Keira got out of the poor house by joining the army and signing up for ten years like any poor person in the present.

Intrinsical, you're giving a season 3 answer to a season one question.
