I was just watching an IGN preview for GI JOE and they showed Joseph Gordon Leavitt who will be Cobra Commander. He reminds me of Heath Ledger and is a really good actor,he might be a good replacement if they want to revisit the character.
Levitt is Cobra Commander? Seriously? That's like casting Morgan Freeman as Shakespeare. They're both fantastic, but...
He might be able to pull off an interesting Joker. He's shown tremendous range for a young actor. But I doubt the Nolan team will want to revisit the Joker, if for no other reason than out of respect for Ledger. And then there's the question of actually coming up with another good Joker story - the truth is Joker is a pretty elemental character who works best if not overdone.
Recasting usually does not work when you have an actor that absolutely nails the role. If Nolan does another Batman, perhaps he should choose another villain.
Didn't they play brothers in 10 Things I Hate About You? I've always thought they looked alike, but I really don't see Nollan recasting the role. It's not like Batman has any shortage of villains for future movies.
I forgot they were in that together, but he sort of has the look so it might work. WB will want to keep milking this as llong as it is sucessful and he could maybe do it for #4. I thought it was weird that he's Cobra Commander too.The story is that he was a Joe and friends with Duke there was a falling out and he's an uber terrorist. Bad origin but I hope the movie is good.
They did appear together in the film, but they weren't playing brothers. Ledger played an outsider and Levitt played one of the popular kids.
Isn't he the little boy in that John Lithgow show? You should have seen his abysmal Taming of the Shrew. It's 20 years later, and it still ranks as the worst performance I've ever seen.
