I've been watching the TOS episodes on Netflix, and have noticed some changes in the shows. I understand some re-mastering was done. Did they add special effects that weren't there before, or do these shows include things that weren't shown in syndication. I notice the Enterprise doing maneuvers that I haven't seen before, and detail on the ship I haven't notices before.

Yes, they had to redo the SFX due to the transfer to HD. For some reason, instead of staying faithful to what was there and just recreating it at higher resolution, they "improved" on the original FX.
