I'm not sure I understand the point of this thread.
I'm guessing the OP rather liked the original linked thread, which was closed on (partially) the grounds that it presented unsources info. This is presumably an attempt to revive it by presenting a source...?
Well, the thing about there being 50 new, never-seen-before alien species making appearances in Star Trek Beyond was one of several bits of trivia arising from the Star Trek Fan Event held at Paramount studios back in May. It was fairly widely reported at the time (
one example from
CinemaBlend) and got some mention in discussions here, but—since there was no itemized list of species, detailing which were which and where in the movie they could be seen—there really wasn't that much anyone could say about it and talk turned to other things.
Then, two and a half months later, came the thread linked above, the opening post of which read, in its entirety:
I am very impressed and happy Justin Linn and Pegg and Co created 50 new alien races to mark the 50th anniversary. I hope we some day get a guide book to Nu Trek and have all the alien races listed with more information about them. I definitely would like to know more about the new alien races.
Which is OK as a journal entry, perhaps, but it was no longer news and besides, kind of over-and-done in that one post - there wasn't really much of a topic for discussion.
Since it was a past-sell-by / blog-entry / "over in one, with no place for discussion to go" thread, I closed it. The OP, with a long habit of posting such empty threads, could well have received a warning for spamming, but I must have been busy or something, and opted not to give one.
As for this current thread: while it does provide links to pieces mentioning the 50 new alien species, it does no more than mention that mentioning. There's no elaboration, no indication of direction for discussion, no real topic. There's just "Hey, you remember that thread which had no links? Well, here are some links."
Boom, done. We're now more than four months past the date of the articles, and where is there to go from here? Still nowhere.
So I guess I'll be closing this one, as well.
