3D Trailer For Series Fred Coming. Possibly.

When the girlfriend & I went to see AVATAR at the IMAX, the Alice in Wonderland trailer was in 3D.

'twas awesome.

:techman:
I was not at an IMAX.

Well, that's where ya went wrong, right there...

the showcase is the best ive got, any better and I would have to go to another city, I would love a better cinema, in both location and general atmosphere, but at the moment the NorthWestage development is stalled, so I wont be getting a new one anytime soon.

I saw Avatar yesterday in 3D. Waste of time, this 3D lark. And they wanted the glasses back. No Doctor Who trailer, that's for sure.

A Showcase is nothing to be sniffed at though. This was at one, and it's siginificantly nicer than the Cineworld in my town of origin.

well my Showcase would be better if it was in a more central location, not stuck out on the edges of an industrial estate.

the extra £2 for 3D is not something I plan to make a habit of paying, some movies I will, some I wont, but I will need to hear that the production has pushed the boat out with the 3D, and its something that really helps tell the story.

Yeah, I was irritated at the extra money for the 3D. The Orange Wednesday didn't cover that bit. And I really don't think it adds anything.

IMO the 3D did work for avatar, but 4 out of the 5 promos I saw were for 3D movies, there is no way I would pay the extra £2 for something like "How to train your dragon" I might consider it for Alice in Wonderland, and maybe Shrek 4, but really there is no way im seeing a move in 3D simply because it is avabile in 3D

Even in Avatar there were precious few times when something seemed to leap off the screen, sure some of the kids in front of me held out there hands to touch something, but its not something I ever felt like I wanted to do.

Well Cineworld have announced they've come to an agreement with Disney over Alice in Wonderland and will be showing it in 2D and 3D.

I'm with Mark Kermode, 3D is essentially pointless. I also found watching Avatar quite tiring, kept having to take the damn glasses off!

I think 3D is just another tool, I quite like it when it's done well but a lot of the time it's a gimmick and pointless (I'm looking at you The Final Destination). The first few times I saw 3D films they gave me headaches, then I started wearing my glasses under the 3D glasses and I haven't really had that problem since. And I'd guess since Sky are launching a 3D sports channel (and possibly others) before the end of the year, I don't think this is a fad, or if it is it's a fad they're really pushing to take off.

one thing I will say about 3D is that its makes it even harder to go from the screen to direct sunlight outside of a cinema, ok you have had your glasses off for a few minutes at that point, but you all know what its like leaving a cinema, I felt it was even worse after I saw Avatar.
