And then as the end credits finish rolling, Alec says "give the people what they really want... ladies and gentlemen, Mr Jay Leno."

Some inhouse squabble, or gentle ribbing?

I don't know but Leno started his show continuing the song they ended on in 30 Rock so they have some kind of synergy going on. I hadn't watched 30 Rock in some time until that last show, I certainly didn't find it to be any funnier than Leno which is pretty bad, I don't really get the hype for that show.
