20th century trek cast cameos

I was thinking it might be neat to work in some holograms or something like that for the TOS actors (a la "Unification III"), and they can play their actual ages now, or just make them up to look older. Regarding others, how long do Travelers live? With Will Wheaton hosting all the after shows I wonder if he's interested in reprising his role, though they might be saving that for PIC.

I definitely could see VOY's Doctor, or perhaps a Dax. Braxton from VOY. Perhaps they could bring in Phlox or an El Aurian (though I don't think they live a thousand years). Future Guy, Sphere Builders, Daniels, are all out there, as is Harry Mudd and TNG's Rasmussen. How long do Borg live? Though Seven's on PIC, they might be able to build a crossover episode around her. If not her, the Borg Queen (after she's done with PIC). I think Mirror Universe versions of characters are open to play around with, and it would be a nice tie-in to the Mirror Universe comics to finally see some TNG Mirror Universe characters in action.

Fun with the holodeck does seem to be in order. Discovery doesn't seem to use theirs, if they even have any (or does everyone just have their holo-fun in their own quarters, alone, at night...). I could see taking course lessons in command from Grand Admiral Chekov, or watching a stirring speech from President Sulu, or going through a how-to video with Captain La Forge on handling ancient isolinear technology.

it seemed pretty clear they tried to close off a lot of those options to themselves.

They often do, and then end up bringing somebody back anyway. It's too tempting.

I'm rooting for a cyborg Riker. Because Frakes needs to come to the rescue in every Trek series.

You are both right. The last episode of Discovery will reveal it was all just Riker in the holodeck during Measure of a Man :guffaw:

Since the end of season 2 I have been waiting for a Sarek cameo via doing his katra remote connection to Burnham. But I guess it doesn't work across 900+ years.

I don't think they'll ever get Brooks back to play Sisko. And if they did, dumping him 1000 years after the family his character promised to return to had died doesn't sound like a direction he'd be interested in going.

Considering how the Prophets function that wouldn't have to be a contradiction. He could, theoretically have lived a long and happy life with Kassidy and then, upon her death returned to the Prophets again, and from there he could go on to play a role in future events.
Though honestly I'd prefer them to not shove established characters into the far flung future of the franchise.
And an event justifying Sisko's return would have to be very dire imo.

Prodigy just did a touching take on this idea with some muffled sounding old voiceovers.

She could always go to where katras are stored on Vulcan...assuming the dementia he had at the end didn't hamper his transfer.

It would be cool to see the new Federation President use a hologram of early Federation President Archer to cement the reformation of the Federation with the return of Earth and Ni'Var / Vulcan and others.

Archer was President of the UFP from 2184-92, which would have made him 72-80 years old, and Bakula is 67, so only five years off, and wouldn't need any old age makeup. Plus he's already part of the CBS/Paramount+ family with his work on NCIS, so getting him on board should be easy. And his appearance on What We Do in the Shadows show he's willing to branch out for a prerecorded guest spot.

As Nandor and Nadja fumble the task of co-running the Vampiric Council for the American Eastern Seaboard, they contact the human actor Scott Bakula for help, because they mistake the man’s last name as an indicator that he’s a vampire. This happens in the beginning of What We Do In The Shadows season 3, episode 7, “The Siren.”
