Matt Smith is also back… And major spoiler… Spoiler: Next series At least one car gets upturned No signs of aliens or cracks in the wall yet though…
Matt spent a while growing that very long platinum blonde hair, I doubt he'll chop it off and dye it all for something as silly as Doctor Who.
Omg really? It looks like Matt Smith?! Maybe they recast him?? Or cast a look a like because he refused to come back? Please bare in mind that I am watching things on my phone, not a TV. Even now I still think that it looks like Matt Smith…
It’s really Neil Patrick Harris. He’s playing a villain in the specials; it was announced several months ago. I can see how it would look like Smith on a small screen. Here’s a better shot of him in the same costume: https://twitter.com/bbcdoctorwho/status/1537115775739240450
That snippet of Gatwa though. I think his era is going to be something else if that 4 seconds is anything to go by.
I had no idea who this guy was either, someone here had to tell me here he is a American actor who had been in that Aliens move from way back, so it is not just you, but he does have a passing resemblence to Smith with the tux and hat on.
I was confused as he looked so much like Matt Smith and we had just seen lots of other past Doctor’s return. Maybe Matt Smith is secretly returning for a degeneration too though? That would be cool. He’ll be back one day I am sure.
You sure, the movie with all the hundreds of aliens running about killing all the humans in the army and the big aliens shooting at the spaceship in space, i can't remember its name.
If you want to know anything about who's likely to be in RTD's Doctor Who, it never hurts to watch RTD's non-Doctor Who TV. Christopher Eccleston was in RTD's TV movie The Second Coming before he was the Doctor, and David Tennant was in RTD's Casanova miniseries before he was the Doctor. Neil Patrick Harris was in RTD's It's a Sin not long ago. In fact, it might not be a bad idea for anyone curious about where RTD might go with Doctor Who to watch It's a Sin and Years and Years, a couple of his more recent projects, to see the kind of thing he's been writing lately. They're also both very good shows, the former about the British gay community in the days of AIDS, the latter near future SF.
He was in Starship Troopers, he's never been in a xenomorph movie His writing has definitely matured. I expect RTD 2.0 to be different to RTD 1.0 (though I expect the Tennant specials to go old school.)
