The 2017 Hugo nominations were just released and while no TREK books or movies made the ballot, I can't resist giving a shout-out to some notable TrekLit alumni.
Kij Johnson, my collaborator on DRAGON'S HONOR long ago, is nominated for Best Novella for "The Dream-Quest of Vellit Boe."
Marco Palmieri edited two of the nominated works: THE GEEK FEMINIST REVOLUTION by Kameron Hurley, which is up for Best Non-Fiction, and THE CRAFT SEQUENCE by Max Gladstone for Best Series.
Congrats to Kij and Marco and all the other nominees.
