2014 Top Moment In TrekLit

What do you have on your list as the top moment in TrekLit for books published in 2014?

In no particular order, Acts of Contrition, Tower of Babel, Disavowed, The Light Fantastic, No Time Like the Past all are up there for me. Very good year for Trek Books.

I think the OP meant top moment in a book in 2014, not top book in 2014. As in, a specific event that was especially great.

For me, the station sequence in A Choice of Futures was pretty great, as was the trial in and the timeloop revelation at the end of Disavowed.

I had a blast reading The Light Fantastic, enjoyed the first book in the Seekers series, and it was fun to see the Trek doctors crossover in that one-shot comic book; but my mind was blown away by the beautifully-painted comic adaptation of Harlan Ellison's original (and wildly different) City on the Edge of Forever script. The image of Janice Rand holding a phaser-rifle is burned into my memory and I'll never watch the broadcast episode again without thinking of this mini-series.

Datas confrontation with Fajo in The Light Fantastic was very well done - as was the conversation between the Countess and Lal where the Countess regained color.

Yep. I was going for the moment of the year you remember reading or hearing about something in TrekLit and thought (or even said) WOW! It could be in-book like I've seen quoted, or even out-of-book.

For me, one of my top moments was finding out that Peter David is coming back to (hopefully) put a proper finale on the New Frontier line.

Enterprise Tower of Babel, by Christopher Benett, The Data novel The Light Fantastic by Jefferey Lang. Disavowed by David Mack, Foul Deeds will Rise and Acts Of Contrition By Kirsten Beyer. No Time like the past By Greg Cox.

Oh, there's a huge just under the gun 2014 moment in The Collectors that deserves mention. Deranged Nasat summed it up best in the review thread:

You forgot pictures!

Yeah. ^ That.

Favorite book was hands down Acts of Contrition, but favorite single moment? Gotta be that.

I forgot to add to my favorite list Star trek TOS Serpents in the Garden I really like the having new stories take place during the Tos movie era. and The Seekers novels by Kevin Dilmore & Dayton ward and David Mack.I really like the Starship crews from the Vanguard books.
