2011 Oscars to be hosted by...James Franco & Anne Hathaway?

I was really unimpressed with Anne Hathaway's appearance on SNL recently. She just tries SO hard to be liked. She's kinda boring that way.
My husband likes Anne Hathaway and James Franco has shown some promise off and on amid some of his more bizarre career choices, but this is very weird. Is the Academy that desperate to grab the MTV Video Awards audience with young non-comedic hosts who really haven't done much compared to prior hosts? I'm sure there are more traditional choices out there who appeal to all audiences. If only I could think of any right now! But honestly, one does not think of Franco and Hathaway in the same catergory as the likes of Steve Martin or Billy Crystal. Not that I always loved their duties, but this is meant to be an old school classy program. People don't watch because they do stupid things like this that make the show last forever!
Hathaway I like, hopefully she'll have good writers to give her good jokes to run with. I've seen very little of Franco, hopefully he'll be good, but I'm not that hopeful.
I wish they'd keep the focus of the host directly on comedians, High Jackman was a nice experiment, but not that great. Martin and Baldwin were funny together, but I prefer the classic formula of a comedian owning the night.

by trying to stay in touch with culture, they are certainly out of touch.
They need someone who is both dignified and funny at the same time.
